Covers & Illustration
for Bloomberg Businessweek

At Bloomberg Businessweek Vietnam, visual storytelling is at the heart of how we communicate ideas. As Creative Lead, I have defined this identity by crafting distinctive covers and commissioning illustrations that fuse editorial depth with cultural resonance. Each cover and illustration is born from collaboration — a constant exchange of ideas with the Managing Editor, Editors and our Featured Artists of The Month. The result is a body of work that balances Bloomberg’s journalistic rigor with bold, contemporary design, creating visuals that both inform and inspire

A comprehensive lens on change, captured through bold cover design and original illustration.

Creative Direction
Vietnam Investment 2024

As Creative Lead, I directed the full creative vision of the Vietnam Investment Summit, hosted by Bloomberg Businessweek Vietnam — overseeing a multidisciplinary team and coordinating with the event agency to ensure a seamless experience across every touchpoint. From concept to execution, my role was to integrate Bloomberg’s editorial rigor with high-impact design and event storytelling.

I managed and guided a team of five in-house designers, alongside external collaborators including one video editor, one motion graphic artist, and one graphic designer. Together, we delivered the complete creative ecosystem: event key visuals (KV), POSM, pre-event promotional assets, on-site activations, and panoramic LED content.

A central highlight was the production of seven editorial videos — including an opening sequence, teaser, and five Bloomberg-standard documentary shorts. Working closely with our financial editor/scriptwriter, video editor, motion graphic artist, and the in-house design team, I ensured that each piece met both the technical demands of large-scale LED display and the storytelling quality expected of Bloomberg journalism.

The result was a unified creative direction that elevated the summit beyond a conference — into a live Bloomberg experience.

Commissioned Artwork
for Lamborghini Vietnam

Created for Lamborghini Vietnam’s Movember fundraising auction, this artwork explores the contemporary meaning of masculinity through the theme “Truth in Courage.”

The piece draws inspiration from the Sigma Male archetype — often misunderstood, yet embodying independence, authenticity, and emotional maturity. In contrast to societal pressures that demand conformity, the Sigma Male represents a man who embraces solitude, questions conventions, and pursues his own path. His courage lies not in dominance, but in vulnerability, resilience, and the strength to remain true to himself

Visually, the work pays homage to art historical references — from the human form of Robert Mapplethorpe, to the sculptural intensity of Bernini, and the chiaroscuro drama of Caravaggio
The final composition stands as a testament to individuality and the power of authenticity — a reflection on how redefining masculinity can unlock courage in its truest sense.

Auctioned to raise funds for Movember, this artwork channels Lamborghini’s ethos of “Driving Humans Beyond” into a cultural statement that connects aesthetics, identity, and purpose.

Trap Film “Room"
Production Design

Tue Jul 19 2022

This proposal outlines a production design concept for X3D Studio. As Art Director, I will lead the development of a full visual package for a scene portraying a frustrated female scientist, the COO of a software company, in Singapore during the year 2050.

A large transparent display replaces the window, doubling as a viewport and work surface. Widgets track the poor air quality outside, while the view displays a polluted cityscape - a blend of tech and apocalyptic haze.

Drawing from the director's vision and script, we developed the character of a female COO who inhabits a high-tech living space that feels strangely cold. This juxtaposition reflects the reality of her world: a more vibrant simulation exists in stark contrast to her physical environment.

The environment is an unique blend of worn, industrial materials juxtaposed with sleek, high-tech furnishings, reflecting the transformation of an old apartment into a modern, tech-integrated living space.

The Sphere

Wed Jul 19 2022

This architecture visualization project materializes a vision of China’s first 360° panoramic metaverse experience center, the MS Sphere of Shaoxing.

The Sphere invites audience to embark on a speculation into the future, where cutting-edge technology merges seamlessly with immersive entertainment. Projected functions for the sphere includes these few, among many: Music Concert Venue, Sporting Events, Interior LED Content Display, Exterior LED Commercial Display and Technology Educational Center.

We received a brief to conceptualize and visualize the sphere and its surrounding area - for the project lead to pitch to city governors, developers and architects. While the cityscape can be constructed from Google Earth data and existing geographical material, the sphere is only brought to life thanks to Unreal Engine's real-time environmental magic.

X3D Robot Sequence

Thu Jul 19 2022

For the launch of X3D Studio, a Singapore-based virtual production and ICVFX studio, we crafted an animation sequence for "Now Is Not The Time" - an immersive art installation by Daniel Arsham commemorating the 100th anniversary of Singapore's Founding Father, Lee Kwan Yew.

Leveraging "virtual production" powered by Unreal Engine, a real-time environment creation tool used in groundbreaking shows like The Mandalorian, X3D Studio aimed to showcase their ability to create stunning visuals for film-making.

We were tasked with creating a video that not only introduced X3D Studio, but also highlighted their artful approach at technology. I crafted the story of a mid-century female robot awakening from a slumber, reminiscent of Maria from the classic sci-fi film Metropolis and Aphrodite from Birth of Venus (Botticelli).

The design of the robot embodies both feminine and masculine silhouette, like a metaphor for  the fusion between Art & Tech. As she steps forward in a Mugler-esque walk, the barren landscape surrounding her undergoes a metamorphosis. It flourishes into an otherworldly environment, symbolizing the transformative power of creativity, breathing life into the world.

NOW
IS NOT THE TIME

Mon Jul 19 2022

Context
"Now Is Not The Time" is an immersive experience commemorating the 100th anniversary of Singapore's Founding Father, Lee Kuan Yew. This exhibition is a collaboration with world-renowned contemporary artist Daniel Arsham.

Our Scope of Work: Infinite Reality Studio was commissioned to create a series of interactive artworks for the exhibition. These artworks encompass a wide range of mediums, including data-driven generative art, video art, and CGI animation.

Solution: Can Digital Art Be Poetic? We explored the question of whether a digital, high-tech recollection of a person can be poetic.

LKY's Unfamiliar Side: Beyond his well-known, strong political stances, a lesser-known, softer side of LKY is his fondness for gardening and flower planting. We incorporated this aspect into the artwork.

The Orchid's Symbolism: The orchid, Singapore's national flower, also plays a significant role. Unlike other flowers, orchids thrive best in controlled, man-made environments. This characteristic parallels Singapore's history as a nation. Despite facing environmental fluctuations, success has been achieved through human effort and resilience.

A New Approach to Portraiture: The exhibition aims to be not only a commemoration of Lee Kuan Yew (LKY) but also a new take on the portrayal of a revered political figure. This new approach should resonate with a Gen-Z audience.

The Cohesive Force: "Hybrid Botanical" became the central concept driving the visual elements of the exhibition, even though we collaborated with many artists during the creation process. This concept ensured thematic unity throughout the show.

Jewel Home

Art Directing a Visual Showcase

Fri Jul 19 2022

This project brings to life world-renowned landscape photographer Peter Lik's latest architectural creation, a luxurious 3 million-dollar Las Vegas luxury residential compound named Jewel Home.

Our team’s challenge was to realistically recreate and elevate the exquisite details of the home in dynamic settings. Solution? We leveraged the power of Unreal Engine to reconstruct a virtual copy of the home, while reliving it - by depicting the real estate in real-time environmental change, like a golden-hour sunlight or amidst a dramatic rain shower.

Results: Breathtaking still renders and video presentations showcasing the Jewel Home's all-day and year-round grandeur. These visuals serve as visually enchanting marketing tools, allowing potential buyers to envision the home's beauty and functionality across different time of day and weather conditions.

Slay Concert

Fri Jul 19 2022

For Billboard Vietnam's Slay Concert on International Women’s Day, I proposed an artistic concept that resonates with both its artful aspirations and the Gen-Z target audience. Drawing inspiration from Man Ray's captivating photograms and iconic portrayals of the female form, the design language will center on fluid gradients, botanical silhouettes, and a powerful "female gaze" motif.

As Art Director, I led the development of this concept across all visual elements, collaborating with 2D, 3D, and motion graphics artists to create a cohesive package encompassing key event visuals, stage design, LED displays, and social media content

To achieve a budget-friendly yet impactful stage design, we proposed a minimalistic approach that embodies both femininity and versatility in installation, using giant fabric sculpture flowers in white. The white fabric served as a blank canvas, allowing the stage lighting to change the flowers' appearance, creating an iridescent effect.

Like the multifaceted aspects of femininity, flower symbolism and metaphor encompass a vast spectrum. Femininity can embody tenderness, kindness, and nurturing, yet it can also encompass passion, love, and even rage. This beautiful complexity, with all its potential gentleness and fierceness, is what makes being a woman so worthwhile

Five pop artists took the stage, each delivering a captivating set of 4-5 tracks back to back. An audience of 1,000 witnessed this intimate yet grand event. The stage setup was minimal, featuring only two live cameras. These cameras dynamically captured the essence of the show, switching between close-up shots of the artists and corresponding abstract visuals to create a truly immersive experience.

Dive deeper into the event with this video recap. Because, truly, every day should be a celebration of women!

Vivaland
Opening Ceremony
Visual LED

Fri Jul 19 2022

As Art Director, I led the concept development for a captivating animation on the visual LED backdrop for Vivaland's opening ceremony. This animation complements a contemporary dance performance that blends neoclassical ballet with Vietnamese Fold Music.

The challenge was to visually represent the harmonious fusion of tradition and modernity, while hinting at ecology and sustainability. Drawing inspiration from Vietnamese cultural symbolism, I chose the bamboo plant. Its characteristics – strength, resilience, and collective growth – resonate with Vivaland's aspirations. The final animation, a collaboration with 2D, 3D, and motion graphics artists, showcases this duality: honoring Vietnamese heritage while embracing a growth-oriented future. Humbly starting as individual shoots, bamboo culms rise together, eventually forming architectural 'monuments' – a testament to the power of collective effort.

Results: Breathtaking still renders and video presentations showcasing the Jewel Home's all-day and year-round grandeur. These visuals serve as visually enchanting marketing tools, allowing potential buyers to envision the home's beauty and functionality across different time of day and weather conditions.

Vivaland's Head of Marketing immediately approved the concept upon presentation. The audience was captivated by the performance, particularly impressed by the intricate details of the computer-generated LED animation. This bamboo animation sequence served as a seamless transition, culminating in the first public unveiling of the Vivaland logo.

Mr. Chen Lian Pang, Chairman of Viva Land, stated Viva Land's commitment to sustainable development in following press release. He emphasized creating high-class, green living spaces while preserving cultural values.
